Dr. Burrows graduated from Otterbein College with a double major in Biology and Chemistry in 1968, and from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1972.
After graduation, Dr. Burrows proudly served his country for 5 years as a Captain in the United States Air Force, first in Oregon for 2 1/2 years, then in Okinawa from 1975 to 1977 as Surgical Specialist for the Military Dog Training Center, and was responsible for all military working dogs deployed to Southeast Asia.
After the Air Force, Dr Burrows practiced for 2 years in Ohio. He and his wife Kim owned Orchards Pet Hospital in Lewiston, Idaho for 12 years; Salcha Veterinary Clinic near Fairbanks, Alaska from 1992 to 1999: and Kingman Animal Hospital from 1999 to April 2007, when they sold the practice to the current owners, Dr.Erika Koenig and Hospital Administrator Ruby Duey. Now semi-retired, he continues to work parttime for Kingman Animal Hospital.
Past hobbies and adventures have included scuba diving and instructing in many parts of the world, horseback guiding and outfitting in Idaho, professional sleddog racing in Alaska, and currently team roping and cattle ranching here in Arizona. Having raised a son and a daughter, he and his wife Kim now enjoy their dogs and horses, camping and fishing, and spending time with their twin grand daughters.
